Setting the course in 13" of fresh. The 2012 Wolf Creek race was a powder-fest and it looks like 2013 will follow suit.
60+ racers line-up at the start.
Scarpa/Trab was well represented.
The race started out with the Marshall Thompson leading the charge. Brian Wickenhauser, Brian Smith, Colin Cares (mt bike racer) and myself followed. I was able to pull into first on the descent. I maintained first on the downhills with Marshall taking the lead on the uphills.
The line-up on lap 3; Simmons and Smith followed by Thompson. At the top of the last climb I dug deep and was able to put a gap on Smith but Thompson stayed right with me. As we raced to the single track finish Thompson pulled ahead to finish 20 seconds ahead for the W.
