4th Annual Chapman Challenge

Video filmed with a Drift HD Ghost
The 4th Annual CC drew 24 racers and lots of rowdy spectators!  Not all racers were on cutting edge Scarpa Aliens and SkiTrab's.  All forms of "travel" are encouraged for the CC.  As well as the standard rando racers we had a few snowboarders, a snowshoer, a racer carrying an ice-ax (apparently for braking on the way down the icy slope), a racer carrying a shovel (for "riding" down the slope ~ cringe), a racer in his tennis shoes carrying his skis in hand and two 9 year olds on their rando gear.  A hardpacked, steep, icy slope made for lots of excitement.  The shovel rider launching a freestyle jump was one memorable moment.  The win went to snowshoer Brendan Trimboli.  Thanks to Pine Needle Mountaineering and the City of Durango for hosting the race.  See you next year!
